P990i media player

At first I thought it was the length of the folder name which the phone couldn't handle or something but it's not that because I renamed the folders.

I have also tried manually dragging and dropping the original MP3 files into the music folder but this still hasn't helped. Has anyone else had this problem and found a way round it? I seriously doubt that this info is present in the ID3 tags of your files..

Posted by firetech To be more specific, most PC players can guess the Song title and artist etc from the file name, the P can't. One of the biggest upgrades to the Pi is the inclusion of Wi-Fi support, which isn't a feature found in a lot of other smart phones. Let's begin with the basics. Each entry in the Pi's address book can hold up to two phone numbers, an e-mail address, a picture caller ID, a birth date, a street address, and notes and can be assigned to a group as well as one of 23 polyphonic ring tones.

There's also a video phone feature that utilizes the front VGA camera for video calls. Though this may be intended for videoconferencing, we can't imagine this being too useful for the average consumer. Other basic features include text and multimedia messaging, a speakerphone, a calendar, a task list, a notepad, a calculator, an alarm clock, a voice recorder, a vibrate mode, a business card scanner, a stopwatch, an RSS feed reader, and a full Opera Web browser. And if you thought that wasn't enough, the Pi comes with quite a few multimedia features.

First, there's the lovely 2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. You can also shoot in a burst of four shots at once, or with a frame. We thought the picture quality was excellent with well-defined tones and colors, though videos appeared a little washed out and grainy. This is quite handy, as there's an online module in the Media Player section of the Pi that lets you store links to your favorite streaming audio and video sources for quick playback.

In addition, the Pi has a built-in FM radio, though it can be accessed only when connected to the wired headset to be used as an antenna. Callers couldn't even tell we were on a cell phone. The speakerphone didn't sound as good, however, and we found ourselves having to raise our voices in order to be heard.

So while you can make and receive calls just fine with the Pi, you might want to turn to the built-in WiFi when attempting to use the Internet. The sound quality from the music player was good. Naturally, we've heard better audio quality from a dedicated MP3 player, but for a cell phone, we can't complain.

Need more help? Join the discussion. Was this information helpful? Even if you install a codec pack, MPC-HC or BE needs to be configured before it can read those formats in the proper codec, you need to specify something like the priority and all that stuff.

It is easy to troubleshoot but of course not everyone wants to do it if other programs works. I used to use them and sometimes it was that way especially when using youtube-dl, now I use Mpv. Maybe mpv would have worked with that movie, without having to support PotPlayer which used to bundle crap in their installer but I think it was removed after complaints.

The scary part is that some people still install codec packs.. The same people probably look for adobe flash player, ad-aware and java to install on their brand new windows 11 computers. The most hardcore ones have a bunch of installers saved for a rainy day. No need for this abomination of media player when better players like vlc, pot, mpc-hc exist.

I massacred my Windows 11 install, butchered it into a bleeding redmond corpse by removing every preinstalled app etc etc. Of course Windows Media Player and Groove Music as well, both supergarbage at what they are supposed to do. So, just for some laughs I tried this thing. Yeah right. This is just a combined skin on top of Groove and WMP disguised as a new player. To play music there are like programs that do it better than this piece of dung, same thing with videos.

Nobody needs this, and you can bet yo azz it will have more adware than actual features too. Yes it is. Look for the one with No thank you! After spending weeks updating my digital music collection with high-res album art to get rid of the super low-resolution album that WMP had saddled it with years earlier , I decided to give Groove Music player a try.

It had deleted a large chunk of the updated album art and replaced with the crappy low-res art before I realized what it was doing and pulled the plug. Never again. Its still the same featureless garbage with a new look. There are millions of other alternatives that are far more capable. Sad how far Microsoft as a software company has fallen.
