The pipe should be as straight and short as possible, with sections properly secured. Hearth pads are usually made from stone or cement. When you are done installing the hearth pad, get the pellet stove on to it. You need to make a hole through the wall where the pellet stove is. In general, the hole should be around three inches wide or more.

The vent thimble is basically a sheath for your pipe. After getting the thimble through, do the same with the piping as well. After this is done, there are two things you should do. The first is to secure the thimble on all sides of the pipe. The second thing is to place a screen and cap on the other side in order to prevent any kinds of debris and dirt from getting inside the ventilation system. For the last step, connect the stove to the outlet and the piping.

If you want to install your pellet stove at a subsistent fireplace opening, follow the below steps to do so. The first and the most crucial thing is to be sure that the fireplace is all clean and clear to hold the pellet stove in it. Make sure that you can cut the hole in the wall for our next step. Also, an electric outlet should be as close as possible — the same as with electric fireplaces. The size of the hole you will cut on the exterior wall of the home depends on the size of the piping. Just make sure to seal the vent thimble on both sides and to install a cap on the outside, so you can prevent rain from coming close to the ventilation system.

The last step is to plug in the pellet stove to the electrical outlet and fill the hopper with pellets to start the heating process.
